The quill can be removed from the machine by unscrewing it from the back of
the housing. I did just that a few months ago. You will see a nut and washer
that comes off and it slips right out of the unit. There is a snap ring etc
. that needs to be removed to swap out gear indexes etc but it comes right
out..

I am interested in rocks and wire-wrap as well as silversmithing, and
this winter I am getting together enough equipment to get some jewelry
made. I have an 8 inch trim saw, and have a 4 inch saw on order. I have
a home made grinder-polisher and some wire-wrap tools. Am also getting
some tools together to silversmith a little. So I am just a beginner,
and am enjoying the hobby very much. I also enjoy rock hunting , going
to gem and mineral shows, and rock club meetings.

_______

Thanks for the bio Steve. Welcome to the group.

TODAY'S FUNNY ~

From: "J Wagstaff" <wagstajo@kos.net>

   THE BEST QUOTATION - EVER!

"Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving
safely in a pretty and well preserved body, ----- but rather to skid in
broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly
proclaiming...'Wow!  What a ride!'"

_______

True, BUT if the ride did not occur according to divine instructions
the next leg will be very unpleasant and never ending.
