From: Bellcha7@aol.com

Most Tanzanite should be heat treated after being cut. After you have cut your
gem,and after you have removed all the inclusions,Heat the gem in a Burn Out
,Casting Oven.
First place you finnished gem in DRYcasting investment, leaving about 1(one)
inch of investment as insulation on all sides of the gem.(more than one inch
is fine)The source of this info uses an old coffee can, fill it with
investment, and just place the stone in the middle. Then:slowly, over a 6-8 hour
period , raise the temperature to about 1000 DEGREES fahrenheit.Hold this
temperature of about an hour, then let the stone cool down slowly in the
oven. The source of this info recommends you start the porcess early in the
morning, then about 5:00-6:00 p.m. turn off the oven.By the next morning the
oven hould have cooled down, and you can remove the finnished
TANZANITE.

Hello all,

Thanks to everyone who responded to my last question about favorite
facetting machines. I ended up getting a loaner (an older Sapphire) and
am trying the Polymetric and a Fac-Ette. Found a club in Mt. Clemens and
started facetting last week. So naturally someone suggested a trip to
Brazil to buy rough, which sounds like a lot of fun with winter coming
on here in Michigan. Is there any interest out there in a stone buying
tour of Sao Paolo, or someplace else? Checked flights and it's about
$530 round trip at the moment.

Best,
Kevin

TODAY'S FUNNY ~

MEN (a womans viewpoint)

Men are like fine wine: They all start out as grapes, and it is
your job to stomp on them and keep them in the dark until
they mature into something you'd want to have with dinner.

Men are like computers: Hard to figure out and never have
enough memory.

Men are like coolers: Load them with beer, and you can take
them anywhere.

Men are like coffee: The best ones are rich, warm, and keep
you up all night long.

Men are like horoscopes: They always tell you what to do, and
they are always wrong.

Men are like plungers: They spend most of their time in the hardware
store or the bathroom.

Men are like parking spots: The good ones are taken, and the rest
are handicapped.

Hello all, I still have a Xristal-Tek87 for sale. I am reducing the price
because I really have to sell this fine machine. I have cut maybe 15 stones
on it. It is basically brand new and in perfect condition. It has the 8"
adapter ring on it and the dial indicator. It is a very sturdy rugged
machine. I am reducing the price to $900 and will still consider all
offers.

Thank you,
David Creviston
